FAQ: Calimer Transmissions

 

Ahhh, the MT-82. There's so much to be said. Some good, some bad. But if you're here looking for a transmission, it's probably bad...

Everyone knows the MT-82 life can be difficult. Whether it's just luck of the draw or failure from the street/strip we have the solution for you: the Calimer Transmissions built MT-82.

 

 

 

 

Ben Calimer has built an awesome name & reputation for himself by supplying some of the fastest 6-speed cars with his built transmissions. 

Whether your MT-82 has tragically broken or you're just getting out in front of it, we offer both a Stage 1 and Stage 2 MT-82 transmission for you to swap into your Mustang (or other project, we don't discriminate). 

Here is a quick run down of each stage. 

 

 

 

Stage 1 features:

Bronze shift pads

Billet shift rail stop (replaces factory plastic pieces)

New syncros, seals etc

 

There is no core required.

Stage 2 features:

Bronze shift pads

Billet shift rail stop (replaces factory plastic pieces)

REM polishing

Cryo treatment

New syncros, seals etc.

PLUS a billet gear-set produced by G-Force specifically for Calimer Transmissions

 

Gear Ratios:

1st: 3.46

2nd: 2.29

3rd: 1.61

4th: 1.26

5th: 1.1

6th: 0.61
 

 

No other stage 3 MT82 has the power handling capability of this Stage 3. It is rated to 1000hp / 900tq.

 

NOTE: The stage 3 is offered in a 26 spline input shaft, so a 26 spline clutch is required. You would want to use the same clutch as a 2007-2009 Shelby GT500.

NOTE:

These transmissions come with a 2011-2014 tailshaft. For 2015+ vehicles, you will need to use a 2015+ tailshaft. 

The transmission will ship dry, you must add fluid. Calimer Transmissions prefers 2 quarts of Amsoil Synchromesh and .75 quart Amsoil 75-90 Transaxle Fluid. You may also follow Ford's factory recommended fluids.
